Some families know a great deal about their roots; others know very little. This site is an attempt to record what I've learned
about our family history. In these modern times, families tend to be scattered all over the country, if not the world. One
of the goals of this web site is to help our family stay connected even though we live far apart.
On this page I'll provide a little information about who I am and what inspired me to do this research. This information
was obtained from talking to living relatives, and from researching public records. In the course of doing this research,
I've met people I would've never met without the use of a computer. Fortunately, I've met some really good people and
made a couple of new relatives friends who I'll be loyal to forever. Unfortunately, I met a few
not so good ones who have forced me to take down my original website.....not because of bad information, but because of theivery.
I do not mind people using my info that I've researched, gone through footwork and also paid for many documents, but I
DO mind when I am not included as a source. I don't consider that fair. When we are put
on another's information as a source, we are then included in any new contacts rather than left
behind to search alone. I like to have new people contact me so that we can correspond and possibly come up with even
more through info we both have and can actually put pieces together to make sense. We can then share even more info with others
and continue on. If someone is only doing it to show how many people they can get on their tree, do not contact me.
I am trying to find the true descendancy of each line.
This is a work in progress, so please contact me if you
have any information that might help round out the picture.
The surnames being researched are the following:
EDMONDS BAYLIS HUSTED COMBS ORCUTT BURLISON BURDICK
MAXSON MELLEN MOWERS BROWNELL FOOTE DIBBLE DUGAN
HOFFMEISTER LAWTON BATES BROWN COVEY WILLIAMS HUBBARD

Acknowledgments
I would like to thank my grandmother, Viola Emma Baylis Husted for inspiring me way back and wish I'd done more when
she was alive. I've met Tom Orcutt and Joel Orcutt and we certainly went beyond where we were before we met - these
guys are GREAT cousins. Tom is related through both my father's line AND my mother's line. Mr Crandall in Brookfield
is a great guy and I'm glad he helped me with the cemetery. Dale Husted, Freeman Coats, Shane Mowers, Heather Thompson,
& Willard Loomis are all cousins and have helped/worked with me on our research. Burdick Memorials went above and
beyond to help me fix Caleb and Frelove Maxson Burdick's stone in Brookfield, NY. For those I have not mentioned,
you know who you are and I thank you(if you would like your names put here, just let me know). Most of this has been
a good experience. I will continue to add to this site as time affords and continue to do legwork in going to the towns and
copying documents.
